i'm trying out the capo approach more ever since there was a big thread about the pros (voicings) and cons (crutch)
from the musical accessory bin in the basement, i've dug up the chubb/shubb/schubb one and an odd stretchy kind that folks have left behind from practices over the years...but i'm going with the Keyser clamp type that Tyson's got going in the pic
it seems easier to keep track off...i clamp it on my nose when it's not needed for the guitar...bonus: it even kinda makes me sound like Gord
