i take it this was during the rolling thunder period.... but "numerous"?. there's a clip of gord doing Ballad in plain D. they've both covered eachothers songs, but together?
there are seperate bootleg tapes of Dylan recording with george harrison and johnny cash, so maybe the Lightfoot thing is true, but still hiding in the vaults
