The river is the melody and sky is the refrain

Char's quietude inhaling: (Steve's infused comment's in pineneedle green within Char's quote)"when i listen to this song I see Lightfoot relaxed in a canoe with lyrics and melodies waiting to be written..
- I can see & inhale it too, Char, and can only guess when he used to get real serious with a few hearty wilderness-savvy pals, and more muscle than Gord's humble clothing would bely - and take one of his legendary 500 - 700 mile mini-maritime (only on the boat size) journey's
( interesting the presumably Canadian-origin stories of that do not express meters in at least just 3.28:1 feet/meters style, hhm )anyway yes I see him on the in/and out of 65 degree Lat. arctic waters sea-kayaking or Canoe'ing up The McKenzie River or what not all the way to Beaufort bay, how could all that wilderness arboreal splendour NOT inspire him to write around the camp-fire ? I'm sure he did - to such perennial classics as Canary-Ye//// Shut-up Steve" - with the CYC song, enough allready lol.....

But W.O.T.N. allways inspired me to snowshoeing psych-ups, in the walking in the snow lyrics at the end... That song has an almost cathedral-like echoe with a perfect (self-voice-over-harmony like Sundown) -harmonius pitch'd church choir background (in the refrain (as I recall...) - Gord's harmony history is resplendant here). Anyway - I'm wit ya... I KNOW I'll be porting this post to the Corfid.cafe, as promised by me. -To free-up the lyrics-game visually- and content-continuity; But I won't let this thread grow completely bereft of GL quips/anecdotes here and there such as your musing Char - but NOT MY voluminous reply lol-I think I'm definately being guided down to the trap-door at the end of the Shanghei-Bar sailor-2B, at the end of the bar that gave San Fransisco its Barberry Coast notoriety; of what our threads fundamentally are all about - celebrating the Man's music in a fun diversional-style ? I', employing for starters a 1 1/2" rule of Mine 'ill keep here and there, more, I'll port to corfid.cafe

SO....Howdy Char - I appreciate your many drop-ins to the new corfid.cafe ! I came within 1 minute of meta-real-time talk with ya ! Was it the Gin/Lime Gimlet that was the 'no-serve 'girly-drinks' lol.... or the Starbuck's coffee shop-slang as portrayed in the Mel Gibson movie - 'What Women Like' - where he gets morning coffee and they sling that shop slang I can't reproduce in writing - something like ' 1/2-decaf no lip -top whip double shot 1 cream no stream winkdrink coffee' that was the girly -type at Tim's - or The cafe ? Well-past my 1 1/2" personal limit self-limiting talkety-talk-B4 I move it into the cafe at this point - its by-by moveout tomorrow -lol

OK 'tseeeer,

Does Q369 ... sting = 'Whispers of the North' ? - you betcha ! - as intended song, too ! I'll post it in the quickly-evaporating NEW mini-update, as well as the comprehensive X-files..lol...

Thanks for playing, Char C U in the Cafe at some point , bring your daughter in 2 ! She's old enough for coffee, isn't she ? Course, you grow-em strong, hale-and-hearty up their in the Northland, Up There In the Snow - Probably drinking coffee by 16, while staying warm in her Hudson's Bay Double-shoulder Stag-Jac-Shirt style, or a genuine Filson's Double Mackinaw (timber)-cruiser Wool coat instead ? We down in the coterminous lower 48 have to a certain extent this still-lingering vision of Canadian's as King's of the snow and ice - Upland Caribou's duck-boots, Malone-wool & grizzlly cloth over-alls we envision of you folks from down here.... or am I about 150 years off, and you're in Levi's and Nautica Shirts, and US-requisite North-Face down jacket in Guide Yellow/Black, commonly here in Colorado as well as Winter-croc's !!! - I draw the line at those....good-God lol.... crocs in winter - they really are selling numb-nu66 the fleece-lined BUT STILL OPEN WITH VENT HOLES LIKE REGULAR CROCS - first slush hole comes up and goodby to dry/warm feet ! Other than Snoopy choosing to sacrifice comfort-for-style, I don't get it..... so anyway - the real Toronto'an, above Q-posed-notwithstanding, I'll really bet you guys are urbaneley ( is that an adjective lol) gadgeting (I'll trademark that) your way thru the day like us:

While you are wi-fy'ing at your local version of Denver's-and-growing 'Tattered Cover' Book Store High-rise mega-book/all-media stores Have they made it up to Toronto yet - ?I'm sure that'd be their first whack at a Canadian location - as 'hip and urbane' as any Nextel-packing mandatory Knee-length tan businessman's/woman's over/rain-coat-wearing, Halliburton-toting Denverite , at least to cover ( no matter how cold )Men's suits, poking out in the tails in the North-Face Down jacket - covering up those sartorial splendor spills, no doubt in Toronto ! OK THIS-one I'll export to Corfid.cafe - case in point ! lol...- by tomorrow late morning - seriously - I'll relocate it into the corfid.cafe- If I remember, all undiscussed matters permitting.
