fun thread, yuri...love your story, sharron i can really relate to it

i have a variety of those little radios that come in most handy during power outages (some have the solar or hand crank (dynamo) power charge feature but the one i've been using the past 10 years just runs on AAs and doesn't seem to eat them up

i highly recommend it if one is looking for last minute gifts for those who (think they) have everything

i use to nod off to sleep (sleep timer), to wake up (radio alarm), to take to the washroom for shaving, etc and also down to the kitchen...the reason i use it instead of having music blasting on my bigger stereo set up is that i need to hear for Jr when he's out of eyesight so i can easily and quickly turn down the sound ...but i just also like the old tinny sound

does anyone have that BOSE all in one unit? they are supposed to be quite nice sounding

it often follows me to the outdoor shack when i'm looking for something...having music in the background makes the aggravating nature of looking for a misplaced something (usually small) more tolerable...i listen to either 1050 oldies or 740 (a station for oldies, lol...but it's plays quite a lot of early Lightfoot every day as well as many melodic classics...not so much the Dance type oldies, which i was never big on)
