Err Umm Jimmy
correct but not completely
One minor mystery to me is that when I first saw that video it was a file called german sundown or something like that
There are a great many Sundown videos now on youtube
and this version is actually a cropped version of the one I first saw which you can see in its entirety at:-

from whose opening sequence I grabbed this screenshot

As you can see it is from a German televison show "disco74"
and dated 26 October 1974
Note that Gordon says that next week's show features Doctor Hook and the Medicine Show as does the video that you posted.
Some time ago I bought a copy of the actual Midnight Special DVD and knowing the "German" video that I already had I was
quite surprised to find that the MS and disco74 videos are plainly one and the same with the "German" one having the addition of a Germany specific introduction On the MS DVD Gord does not mention the redoubtable and highly amusing pair of Dennis Locorriere and Ray Sawyer
I will now hazard a guess on how this confusing sitution arose.
per Wayne's site at:-
http//lightfoot.ca/tvappear.htm
The Midnight Special appearance was on February 23 1974
the next entry is undated but is "Solid Gold (Disco74)-SYN-1974
on Wayne's 1974 tour page:-
http://lightfoot.ca/1974.htm
on Feb 23 Gord was performing in Annapolis Maryland not an NBC studio in "The Rock" in new York City and on October 26 he
was in Cleveland Ohio not Germany.
My theory is that quite possibly then this was a "stock" studio performance that NBC made for Midnight Special then with the
extra relevant Dr Hook announcement dubbed on by Gord it was flogged to the Germans and presented as a Live performance made in Germany
