Default Re: GL Lyrics fan(atics) fun quizzers and more !

Note: I deleted my semi-duplicate thread of this one above, this one has all the first did plus the new set of 6 ! And some basic typos corrected, and some muddy thinking this ealry am corrected. A re-read might be to your advantage. Thanks guys - and Oh! BTW - I hereby dub this thread the "Sundown Saloon".

Light-Heads and all welcome. Fights are only intterupted if my stuff is getting broken... so sit down, or pull-up a bar-stool, hook a heel on the brass rail, do any Western Cliche you want -and relax to the mellow sounds..played exclusively in here, of Gordon Lightfoot.

Have a drink, a smoke, cigars allowed, talk to "Shut-up-and deal-Im Loosin" over in the corner about house rules on gamblin.... and our mascot, for now, is a lightbulb on a 70's post-kitsch lamp with no shade, but a green, Gord-style Hawaiin Shirt, and the Lightbulb poppin-out of the shirt of course, THE ORIGINAL LIGHTHEAD. acoutrements open to discussion. The "Parrot" mascot down at the other end, though we may repect it and like it here and there..we actually use for target practice for fun when the boys would otherwise be tree'in the town ....- they shoot the parrot..this ain't no Margarita bar, this is...a DIVE...! And Proud of it !

back to thread as it was, with a few corrections, and dupe of it from above deleted, nothing is missing, its all here.

Hi guys. Old friends. Compadres ...lol..

I am so sorry for both the delay, and all your hard work in earnest belief that i would not make more than 2 mistakes in 150 questions. I have scrutinized things all night long, had a few incidents that will be illustrative in a sec., and
decided what to do, largely upon the total weight of your collective input. This still is a democracy.

I've been having very , very long 7 - 9 hour seizures, and as many 3 -6 hour ones. I have not been functional in here for you during that time. Again I'm sorry. I have made it, without seizure, long enough to the astute eye not only "spotted" in other threads, but in this one, almost very day, for between 30 and 60 minutes, trying to figure out where Q146 went wrong. I did. I typo'd as you guys thought, and it crashed my program , too...aaaaghhh ! lol

I certainly havn't been too embarrassed to poke my head in my own thread, to be embarrassed over a third error in 150 clues would be a bit'o hubris eh?

Naw, I've poked around wherever about 15 - 20 minuts perusal would take me, and then back to our lyrics thread as long as I could stay conscious. I'm better today.. The thread: Its ours, you guys have worked so hard in here and been patient with me, hats off to ya & because it is so much fun to watch you guys amazingly think though 1 -2 word clues...and get 'em !. Thats hard. Writing them is hard, but in a different way.

Char your exhaustive effort was noble if not deflating to you, seing you bust yourself up trying to work from what I figured out tonight was an invalid clue. I'm so sorry - I check myself so carefully for that...I triple check these new set of forthcoming later this thread clue's after I hear them in my head, as we do in this game. When I enterd Q146 before, the typo'd clue that previously I enterd right and CRT came out, , well, go figure, when I re-enterd my clue as typo'd, while investigating, Entered it and the song into the database program. Then it crashed. But I extracted the song - CRT - confirming that, which led me succinctly to what the clue should have been. ....hands would have been correct for that, too. Sure sorry. But you set a tone for, among other things....perseverance. Thank you.

jj - and others who lost sleep, and were distracted while driving , stummped on this one, please forgive me.

I respect very much you guys honouring me as "boss" the way you do, but its no trip for me....remember its a democracy, I am just the the traffic director, and of course only I know the answer pair, as I came up with them.
But we can rotate that, if you'd like, too !

Would you guys like to come up with a rotating deal of who is "the dealer", the 'boss" for a set of 6 or 12 ? In any event, lets go to 6 songs this time to go to an even 160, then maybe, what/ 10 - 18 songs each time, give more up time while I process answers or whomever ? Would you like me to continue 'dealing" the Q's, or pass the deal routinely to you all. It is more work than you think, I GUARANTEE IT. But I don't get nervous.....just frustrated over extremely painful seizures and subsequent neck deterioration. Its actually very good for me. I do enjoy it. I've no qualms with keepin on keepin on, but would be immediately open to passin the deal on a regular basis..

I really am thank ful for your guys turn-out this time, and you remaining productivvvvvvvvvvveD/an (its starting right now I bwtter post a new list of 6)

Unless you would like to discuss my error when I am back in tell you right now that jj takes the most obvious cake, upon imperfect premise, but as the error was mine, he should not be penalized. He read intuitively into my extra clues on this one to lead him correctly to CRT. Congrats, jj.

The error to be found was in fact that while indeed I had selected CRT for the song, the clue, as a few of you estimated, might have been typo'd, in either the original ....and hands, and the apparently mistaken .....hands. The original was a typo of what should have read
Q146 Clue: ....their hands. And then most of you would have got it. My apologies. If anyone has amore equitable view of the way to declare relative winner of this one; I'm listening. One good take is its a 13th floor option, was, as several of you said. Personally, I admire the intuition jj showed by knowing what song I was thinkng by virtue of my clues.

OK its gettin worse so I'm postong the next 6 right now..talk to u all later ! And jj definately winds the cake, now especially that I hear concurrence from Char - my error should not penalize your oppurtunities.
CONGRATULATIONS ! jj

new Q'S 151 - 156 !

Q151....deep inside

Q152....that at

Q153....and take

Q154.... in there....

Q155....all I do

Q156....the river

double checked

Note: if they are too cryptic - lemme know... I'll do 2nd clue sets....

HAVE FUN !
