Default Prime Minister of Canada plays Carefree Highway

Here in Canada we are having an election to determine who the next PM will be. Here in Canada an election is called and less than 6 weeks later we have the election..Hundreds of millions are not spent in a 2 year campaign involving families and personal issues of the PM wannabes.. (Well not to any major degree anyway)

So Stephen Harper, the current PM (who called the election and hopes to be voted back into power) surprised all of us with this mini-concert to show his softer side..and his knowledge about our Canadian Icon..

Stephen Harper put on a brief concert for the national media during a campaign stop in Newfoundland.
The prime minister’s piano skills were not widely known before the current election.

But in an attempt to show voters his more sympathetic side, Harper aides have distributed pictures of him at the piano and he has discussed his previously unknown passion for writing poetry.

On Saturday he delivered a live show at the airport in St. John’s, N.L.

Harper played the Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and Gordon Lightfoot’s “Carefree Highway.”

One of the tough-to-impress journalists — who also happens to be a musician — said he walked away impressed.
