My Dad couldn't have worked on the Fitz then since it wasn't launched yet. Those ships are so huge, they give you a sense of awe when you get up close. I once went on a haunted tour on the S.S. William A Irvin. They have those haunted tours around halloween time every year in Duluth, MN. Had to stand in line for quite a while, but it was worth it. The actors are really good.
