Default Spin Spin / Gordon Lightfoot

So fine, so fine the web you spin, I come too close Originally released in the early 60's..it was not released on an album until 1993..when his 1969 album Sunday Concert..was re-released as Sunday Concert Plus..the original Sunday concert was a live album..Gord's fifth..and fulfilled his stormy contract for 5 albums with United Artists..it definitely gives you a great example of his pre-album 'fame'..and you can hear the early recording "faux pas" because of the 'ancient' equipment of that time's recording studios..I set the music to a slideshow of 'blue scenery'..for no other reason but it is comforting to look at..so enjoy one of Gord's earliest works..thanks again Gord for a lifetime of musical mastery..krazykritik Mike..P.S. this was also recorded by another Canadian legend..Stompin' Tom Connors..

Spin, Spin, ©1966 by Gordon Lightfoot

So fine, so fine the web you spin,
I come too close and I'm caught again!
In the web of wild design,
I do not know what fate is mine!
All the day sit and spin,
Spin your web and you draw me in.
Spin, spin, spin, spin!

And my daddy said when I was young,
"Beware the web of love, my son,
To be in love is to be insane,
Make an old man groan, a young man pain!"
All the day, sit and spin,
Spin your web and you draw me in.
Spin, spin, spin, spin!

Then I did go and the time did fly,
Many a true love passed me by.
And then you came like a blinding storm,
I landed in your web so warm,
Spin your web and you draw me in.
Spin, spin, spin, spin!

So fine, so fine the web you spin,
I come too close and I'm caught again!
In the web of wild desire,
And I cannot control the fire!
All the day sit and spin,
You spin your web and you draw me in.
