rest peacefully, Lynne...although my having finally had the pleasure of a brief intro at the Hamilton Gord Comeback gig, I am but a distant stranger although have received so many updates over the years and while so saddened by this news I can mildly balance the sorrow knowing that she must be free of much pain and frustration experienced during her recent years
speaking of the Gord comeback and Hamilton HHS, as far as a token group donation, I wondered if the Friday Massey pub jam could also be a celebration of Lynne as well and perhaps I could even make a crude DVD of the event segments and any interested could pop in say $10 to be mailed a copy with the small but meaningful proceeds going to a donation in her name on behalf of her fellow Gord e-fans, just a thought
my anecdote: I must have first heard reference to Lynne while reading the newsgroup back in the late 90s - years later, I remember late one night my showing some photos I was e-mailed of our Hamilton fan dinner gathering to a fairly keen local Gord fan and friend of mine who is probably about 60 - he is actually originally a friend of my older brother, anyhow...
when he saw her in one of the pics, he immediately yiped "wow, the Lightfoot woman!" (I am certain she was SO much more than that) - anyhow, I was a bit stunned and said that's also what I kind of came to think of her as, nickname-wise
I said to him that her name was actually Lynne and he nodded, "Yes, Lynne!" - he said he had been to various parties back when he was in his early twentys and there was a memorable gal who was kept telling him and others of this wonderful, talented Lightfoot fella and she knew almost everything about him - he said this gal knew more about this guy than I think I know about myself

I can't believe he recognized her from the mostly facial shot SO many years later
anyhow, one of those 'small world' stories that has always brought about a smile, as I'm sure Lynne did to Gord, family and so many other loved ones...my best to her family at this time
