Default Re: Way to Go Down Under

If you do a google for "junkers 52 usa"
you can find lots of interesting links
first one I tried was
http://www.vectisdirect.co.uk/produc...0&item_id=4490
a uk outfit selling a 1:250th scale model for a mere
$9.87 but the kicker is
USA Postage & Packing:$22.69
total $32.56
next was
Amazon.com: A Flight to Dreams: JU-52 Junkers:...Amazon.com: A Flight to Dreams: JU-52 Junkers:... Starring:
Vuokko Hovatta, Britney Spears
now there's a name to conjure with.... not!!!
a $17.99 video

one reviewer said
"This DVD is a delight for aviation and travel buffs. It covers the flights of a Junkers JU-52, a classic tri-motor airliner of the 1930's still in operation in Switzerland. You'll find yourself flying over the glaciers, mountains, valleys and lakes of Switzerland listening to the drone of 3 BMW engines. Even the seemingly mundane tasks of an engine over-haul and refueling are fascinating to watch. I highly recommend this DVD for those who enjoy the aircraft and air travel from the Golden Age of Aviation."
4 used and new from $10.88

OR if you get Microsoft Flight Simulator you can fly your very own virtual model:-
(amazing what can be done with FlightSim!!!)
there are other J52 videos if you search on youtube a wonderful resource for things like this as well as music and humour!!
to my more specific question to google
"is there a junkers 52 in the usa"
TIP when googling try inputting such a question google will search for key words in your question and come up with web pages pages that match them
I found
http://www.warbirdalley.com/ju52.htm
which has Omer's picture
mit zis caption
"
Ju 52 owned and operated by the Commemorative Air Force. Photo taken over Frederick, Maryland, USA in August 2000 by Gregory Witmer (Captain Video Productions), from Larry Kelley's B-25 "Panchito"
the google summary of another link to:-
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...10/ai_n9342004
says simply in October 2003
"
Of the 5415 Junkers 52 types built, only eight still fly: one in the USA, one in Germany, one in South Africa, four in Switzerland and now this one in...."
.... being France, this J52 being a recently restored one,
