Yes Jesse Joe,
It has been a truly wonderful year. I look back at the 30 some years I have been listening to and following Gordon and orchestra and wonder where the time has gone. The answer to your question if one concert stands out is not easy to answer. Keeping in mind that I am an "aging groupie/stocker" (lol), here is my answer.
The first 4 were in my own state of CA and all pretty close by. Those were my favorites because they were the first of the season, Gordon looked good and of course the guys in the orchestra were perfect, as always. Four nights in a row was amazing.
The three concerts in Texas were good except it was so hot and humid. The first one in Austin was an outdoor venue. We had to keep drinking water because our throats were so dry. Since "our guys", are professionals they played a good concert. I don't know how Gordon swallowed let alone sang. Maybe those were my favorites.
August brought Colorado. Ken and I could only attend 2 of the 4. Those might be my favorites but I think the altitude was bothering us low land people. Again it was great to see Gordon and watch and listen to how professional they all are.
Okay, Nashvile was one of the best for me this year. Gordon looked and sounded stronger that he had all year. That night was the first of three "goodie" bags I handed him on stage. He loved it and it hyped up the audience. Only one person as I am sure you remember was not a happy camper. People (not me), were yelling for Gordon to open it right then. He smiled at everyone and said, "She likes me to wait until later".
What can I say, except that Kentucky and Indiana concerts were my favorites too.
Jesse Joe, I think it is hopeless to ever get me to say one of Gordon's concerts is any better than all the rest. I have been hooked on him and his music since day one(and no Walter I do not remember when that first one was).
Thank you Jesse Joe for asking the question. Traveling with Kerstin, Kathy, a few others when they can make it and my husband Ken makes it all even more special for me. If I am lucky Bink will be with us too next year when she can.
I am sure all of you are tired of reading this but thank you for letting me share and for being my "special" friends who understand how I feel.
