Inspired by that snopes.com site's title bar which says

in other words this site is a haven of urban legends I checked their home page at:-

I checked the "music" section hoping to find a mention about our hero but nothing was there about Gord but I enjoyed reading the debunking notes regarding the Eagles "Hotel California" and the well known speculation about P P and M's "Puff the Magic Dragon".
