OMG - I think I must have seen a few of these back in the day. Check out "Trouble with Women" (1959) for the blatant sexist attitude that was considered the norm (his personnel director would have been in the minority at the time.) He'd be a walking sex discrimination lawsuit today.
We actually had courtesy classes, with accompanying manners books, in grade school.
