Many actors (and others) give their age as younger - and sometimes older - than they really are. Actresses in particular hit a casting wall when they reach 'a certain age' so if their bio reads as younger than they actually are, it gives them a few more years' edge. Sort of the reverse of all those boys who claimed to be 18 in order to enlist in WWI or WWII when they were actually 15 or 16, either having an older sibling vouch for them or faking a birth certificate because they were so eager to go and fight overseas. And then there are the people whose birth records were lost in a fire or flood, or those with, shall we say, *complex* family histories whose mother turns out to be a sister or grandma - dates get pretty vague in some of those cases too.
