No, deleting them won't affect your other groups. You should reboot your PC at least once a day. Then connect to the Internet.

You don't have to connect to the Internet to delete your cookies and temporary files. (which is a go(r)dsend for us dialup sufferers). From your desktop, just right click on the icon for your internet explorer and chose "properties". That will bring up the box with all the buttons you need. Then proceed as Cathy has expertly detailed.

However just know that when you do this (and you should) that things will act a little differently on the pages have bookmarked. Personally I have that annoying "hamster dance" bookmarked for my granddaughter and whenever I delete my cookies and files, it takes a little longer to load the first time out again. And you won't get the indicators on this site that will show you if there have been new posts since your last visit. Small inconvenience compared to having my pc run efficiently.

This will work for Windows 98, XP and NT in my experience.

But yes, Affair, check with dad first if you are using his computer. While it doesn't hurt anything, it might give dad some frustrations if he has pages saved. Nothing worse than having someone else do something to the computer you use without giving you a heads up. lol

Char, knowing how much you travel on your system and if you've never done it, don't be worried if it takes forever for the hourglass to change back to the cursor. I suspect you have enough cookies to feed an army in your files.

And I don't think I have had a chance to say this yet, Cathy...Welcome Back! Don't scare us like that again!
