Update on Fats Domino:

I read in this morning's paper that he did survive the flooding - his daughter identified a photo of him by the New Orleans Picayune showing him being helped off a boat near his home in the city's lower 9th ward, according to CNN. His whereabouts since the rescue are not known. So he was alive as of Monday night but I don't think his family has had any contact (his daughter lives in New Jersey.)Apparently he refused to leave when the evacuation was underway as so many did. If I hear more, I'll post.
