Ahhhh, I knew he was born in California, but born in Pomona somehow explains a lot more. At the time he was born it would have been mostly agricultural. It wasn't really considered an L.A. suburb back then the way it seems to be now. I remember driving up old highway 1 years ago humming California Bloodlines
Wonder if they every put up some highway markers. There were miles there were I wasn't sure I was still on it.
