My term "re-record" is misleading.
Much of the original SMILE concept album was recorded, in varying degrees of completion, but this is the first time that all of the material, including many never-before-recorded missing links, has been brought together as a whole.
Artists re-recording old material usually leads to failure, I agree, but this is a different matter altogether. SMILE truly is a supreme achievement.
