Canada won't be calling itself "America" - just to set that straight. There is a distinction. We are two countries on one continent called North America. Most people here in Canada know "America" generally refers to the U.S.A. "North America" refers to the continent however. Here in Canada, "Indians" are referred to as "Native Canadians" or "First Nations People" or "Aboriginals". It is a distinction given to the people who were here before the white man settled this continent. I am a native of Canada - I was born here but the distinction and term belongs to the tribes of the "Aboriginals" or "First Nations People" I am Canadian.
