I'm quite surprised to see all the chauvinism remarks about "For lovin' me". I'm a woman, and I never once thought that! I've always loved that song, I've been singing it since the late 70's. For years I even considered it my theme song! It was a great way to warn men of my non committal nature!

Thats actually how I interpreted it from Lightfoot's point of view, not a "ha ha I'm out to get all the women I can", but more of a person who was running from relationships. There's nothing in the song to indicate he was happy about the song, it's rather mournful. In fact there is the hope that in the future things might change ("well I just might pass this way again")

I don't find it arrogant or chavinistic at all, it's a great song.
