I knew he was big in other countries. They tend to embrace wholly the groups and singers we either ignore or don't make as big a fuss about.
For another example,the group KISS sold out stadiums here in the U.S. but they were only allowed 9 top 40 hits & 2 top 10's out of those. Overseas,they not only sold out stadiums,they burned up the charts too!
The old countries also tend to have more respect for someone who sings from within themselves,like GL. Here in the U.S. we tend to glorify the flashy & overbearing. Not to mention the "kiss-ups". Here's to god taste and simplicity.
