I always have the flag outside my home and I always have homemade maple syrup from Orillia in the fridge so I am ready with that stuff! Hmmmmm...well I couldn't take him to the big city like we usually do with other visitors - so I would take him around my little town and show him some of the historical sites, some of which mesh with the history of his hometown. We'd come back for a swim and a bar b.q., watch the Blue Jays on the T.V., talk about the French/English problems in Canada, the myriad of problems in the health and education systems in Ontario and if he wanted he could recount some stories of his times with Kristofferson, Ronnie Hawkins, James Taylor, John Denver, Harry Chapin, Robert Markle and the rest of the gang. We would laugh over old photos I have taken from his Massey concerts over 25 years and maybe, just maybe he could pick a couple of tunes for us and show my son what real talent is all about!
When he left I would then get back in my body and carry on with my life with a feeling of having spent time with greatness and being very blessed.
