I consider songs like: Christian Island, Bend In The Water, Blackberry Wine, Slide On Over, 14 Karat Gold and many others to be "happy" songs. Perhaps upbeat would be a better word. But all Gord's songs cheer me up, regardless of the subject matter.
And one of the best cures for the blues is to share them. Sitting around pining for whatever it is you can't have just leads deeper into the blues. Taking it outside in the sun always makes things look brighter. But I'm an optimist and I guess cheering up is not for everyone.
