Eliz, hold on a minute, yes i started hearing GL in the mid 60's (thanks to my family's musical tastes) but was only old enough to start truly listening in the 70's and didn't see him until the 80's...but there are a handful of folk here and at the NG who saw him live in the 60's

i only heard about Rea and especially Longhorne via Burchill (well, other than my readings at Wayne's site, of course)
