Somethings not right, because no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get into the album Harmony. None of the songs on there sound bad or anything, but I haven't fallen in love with any of them, which is unnatural, because by now I'd have fallen in love with at least one song. It was always so with the other new albums I purchased. There are only 4 reasons I can think of to explain this.

1. Only a week or so before I'd gotten the Back Here On Earth/Did She Mention My Name and the Salute albums. And with all the new songs I've been to busy to really give Harmony a listen.

2. Perhaps, for the 1st time ever, I'm just too young and too imateur to understand Gords music.

3. I'm not currently in love or having love problems anymore(because I'm out of school and don't have to attend the same class as that girl) and that albums deals with a lot about love. If it had been released a month earlier I probably wouldn't be having a problem getting into the album.

4. GL is simply losing his touch(and I know d*mn well this is not the case, because for one thing, he is Gordon Lightfoot, and another thing, all of you wouldn't like this album so much if he were, so this can't be it. Perhaps I'm just not used to this new type of writing style he uses on this album.

Seeing you just bought two earlier albums, you are probably a bit overexposed to his music at this point. My suggestion would be to put Harmony away for awhile and enjoy Back Here On Earth and Salute for a month or so. Listen to them until you don't want to listen anymore. Then dig Harmony out. Shut off your lights, lie down on the bed and put headphones on, and just absorb the music without any distractions.

You are really in a different boat than the rest of us. We've been on the Gord journey for 30+ years. You've barely made your way out of the starting gate. You have some catching up to do, and that will take some time. Don't try to absorb all the music at once. Develope an appreciation for each CD, then move on to the next.
And for Gord's sake, learn how to play the guitar.
