It was so amazing. And it was my first GL concert...wait, no, it wasn't at Carnegie Hall, it was at Philharmonic (Avery Fisher) Hall at Lincoln Center...I think..!! Anyway, it was a totally sold out event and he had the audience in the palm of his hand before he even came out on stage. I remember we were asked by the radio promo to bring canned food, which we did, to benefit the cause, and I remember a little girl in leg braces I think it was being brought out to meet him and he asked for "a big hand for the little gal!" Everyone sort of sang along with lots of stuff, and when he did the line in Pony Man about Mr. Whoop and
Holler the whole place started whoooooooping and it was just great. We did wait outside, I remember, because it was really cold..well, not 10 degrees but....we waited and waited and waited...and he finally came out and waved and was whisked into his limo..but I was so thrilled it was worth it all....it was an unforgettable experience..anyone out there happened to be at that concert???
wow, I'm all excited just remembering it!
Thanks for the opportunity to go there again.
