Debra,I saw Patti Page on PBS earlier this year on one of those 1950's music specials. She sang that song as if it were still the early 1950's!
It was extremely moving,not just for the lyrics but in seeing the folks in the audience that are my Mother's age & up. They looked so happy to see her up there,like they were in a time machine or something.

Even more touching that night was another singer from that time Gogi Grant (not her real name). She had a huge hit in 1956 with,"The Wayward Wind".
Pat Boone introduced her and out strolled this now 80 year old woman and she sang it and sounded almost exactly like the record I 1st heard all the way back in 1972 at age 4! I got "misty" in my eyes. ...and I'm not even of that era.
