I completely understand the questions and confusion concerning the sound quality of GG I and GG II. I have yet to figure it out myself. I do not blame Gord's voice for the bad sound quality of GG II but rather, the recording quality as a whole. GG I is crisp, clear, with beautiful symphonic strings as tasteful back-up. The acoustic guitars are perfect as is the total mix. To me, Lightfoot's voice has never sounded better. His highs, his lows, his depth, the smoothness. Wow!!! Maybe the second attempt is too electric, with less strings, and it seems, less voice volume and depth. The mix is muffled and garbled. Still a great record, but maybe hastily produced.
