Joanie Mitchell" earliest hit single i know of is Paid Paradise wich was in 1970 but i believe is 5 years under Lightfoot wich mean she might of been recording sometime before that. here's a coupel of Canadian rock bands. The Band and The Guess Who. the Band started out as Ronnie & The Hawks and TGH was Chad Allen & The Expressions. they had 1 hit here in the states in 1965 called shake it all over though it's hardly played today but it would of been another 4 years untill they had continuing commercial success here. same with the band having their 1st album under the name The Band in 1968.
