I suspect that's exactly why he said yes - giving back. I'm sure others around him were for it for profile reasons - he's still here and getting ready to perform again - but Gord has never forgotten those who gave him a hand on the way up, and if CI isn't exactly master classes at the university, it's as close as young performers get these days.
