Not from what I can recall from publications that I have read. If memory serves me correctly, J.G. is from North Umberland and all I know about his ancestory is that he comes from a very long line of reputable roofers.
By the way, the Snagglesworth originals "Opey The Hamster For Dinner Again" and "Over Exposed Film Again" are true stories from his life. Even though he did not start singing and songwriting until his early 80's, he credits much of his inspiration to Lightfoot.
Why wasn't he asked to sing something for that new tribute album?
