Don’t shut a door because of a fear
that something good will come to an end.
Because if you do then you’ve built your own trap
and leave nothing standing to defend.
Keep the blue heart earrings in a special place
and tuck those memories (for now) away;
for someday the pain you now feel will recede
- and only the good will stay.
