Hello, I don't know of anything to say except for to quote from the Great Days Anthology. Here's what John says about the song.
"As a child, a neighborhood kid who was always in trouble chose me for a friend. His brothers pushed him around a lot, and his mother generally ignored
him. Years later as a teenager, still always in trouble, he ended up in Juvenile Court and the prosecutor decided to tell the court and my friend, that
his father was his father, but his mother was his oldest sister. No wonder he was always in trouble". ~John Prine
By the way, if you start to like the music you hear, then join the discussion YahooGroup. Send a blank e-mail to
prine-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
and join up and enjoy. Also, if you're not ready to commit to the discussion list, at least go to www.JPShrine.org
and browse the extensive site. If you're new to the music, then a lot of the references will not mean as much to you until you hear a lot of his music. Let the group know if you join though, and it's like a family there.
