Re: Youtube reactors
Since I posted the above Trey and Shawn at Reactions to the Classics have reacted to a couple of lesser-heard Lightfoot tunes, one at my behest (if you're a genius you'll work out which!):

What a great article, thanks for posting. Always loved Jim's drumming but had never noticed the specific use of the backbeat on this track until it was pointed out.

Absolutely, which is why the few reactors I have actually subscribed to are those who are all about the music first and foremost - they also tend to be the ones who are genuinely interested in...

Not sure if others here have caught on to the new genre that is youtube reactions, but in lockdown I've been sifting through a fair few of them - my favourites are Andy and Alex who dive into all...

Re: Favourite Song on "Solo" Album
Haven't got it yet but it is now on it's way - and is the first Lightfoot album I've ever managed to buy in year of release (in fact Harmony was my previous best which I got a mere 5 years later -...

Re: LONDON UK-Royal Albert Hall-May 25,2016
I didn't hear anything negative from the audience at all as I left the show (someone was lamenting the absence of 'Daylight Katy' from the setlist, which could surely only happen in the UK!) and...

Hmmm, wonder if next year's UK tour has reminded a few people in high places of Gord's existence? :-)

Have just booked my ticket for the Albert Hall gig and am, quite literally, dizzy with excitement. If someone would care to pinch me right about now that would be fine!!

Re: Poll: Favourite Closing Song on an album
Tough choice, but going with 'She's Not the Same'. If it was alllowed I'd pick 'Is There Anyone Home' (Hey, surely I'm not the only person who always played side 2 first?).

Always great to see love from one of my all-time favourite artists to another. Not that I need any validation for my love of Gord, obviously!

Re: HE IS FINE - it was a hoax
Well, I recently felt forced to comment on a newish Amazon (UK) review of 'Sundown' that referred to him as 'the late' Gordon Lightfoot, so it seems the rumours persist in certain quarters!

Re: Who else are you listening to?
I'm always listening to Marillion and Magnum (well, they are my two favourite bands).
I've also been on one of my periodic kicks of listening to a lot of Harry Chapin just lately.

Gitche-Gumee
Joneses
Lee (of an island etc)
Prima Donna (but I'm sure it's heard in a song on Van Morrison's album "A Night in San Francisco")

I wonder how significant which version you heard first is in determining your favourites? 'Gord's Gold' was one of the first albums I ever bought (aged 8, IIRC!) and I'm naturally pre-disposed to...

Been thinking about this lately myself, next year's out of the question but maybe 2014...I am, of course, assuming, that a sudden (final?) return to the UK is out of the question for Gord?

I have never even heard of this song (it's not on Songbook either...).
Speaking of Canadian music charts is there anywhere online I can find Gord's complete singles and album chart peaks?
