The Edmund Fitzgerald

Forty two years now gone by since the tragic loss of twenty nine sailors onboard The Edmund Fitzgerald. Gone but never forgotten. Nov 10th, 1975. Peaceful condolences to all family members.

and 31 years ago, the song itself just missed being
#1 in the US but, it did peak at #2 the week of Gordon's 38th birthday.

There was never a greater tribute to those sailors
and it was almost like an american birthday present for Gordon.
