The Skip Weshner Interviews
A good friend of mine just recently found at Half Price Books a cd titled "Gordon Lightfoot, The Skip Weshner Radio Show 1968-1970". He purchased it for me and what a great gift it is. Not only are there over 60 minutes of interviews but there are many songs sung by Gordon including his version of Elton John's "Your Song". I never even realized this cd existed until it was given to me. Does anyone else have more information this release?

Re: The Skip Weshner Interviews
On YouTube as well as "Your Song" there are simulated "audio/videos" of two other rarities from the Skip tapes:-
The Seabird Song and TheDoomsday Song Incidentally "ROIO" which is a part of the bigozone2.com URL I presented is an anagram for "Recordings Of Independant Origin" (i.e. a euphemism for Bootlegs!!) as per the disclaimer. which I have always liked. on http://dimesdozen.org "DIME is merely a BitTorrent tracker for audio and video recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released. No audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs. If you're an artist (or a legal representative of an artist or its estate) and you don't want your ROIOs shared on DIME for free among your fans, you may opt out any time by sending e-mail to the site admin. We will then put you in our list of not allowed artists, known as the NAB list. This will halt all sharing of your ROIOs using DIME's trackers within minutes. BTW, the ROIOs exist, you can't make them vanish. So, why not let your fans get them for free from one another instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites?" |

Re: The Skip Weshner Interviews
Or you do not even need to download anything! For instant listening on
htt://www.sugarmegs.org go to the g for "gordon' listing at http://tela.sugarmegs.org/alpha/g.html then scroll down past several bazillion irrelevant Grateful Dead bootlegs to the GL sequence where you will find http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFO.../sugarmegs.jpg once there you can look at the set list and listen by clicking either the item's name as highlit or either of the wma or mp3 links and if you so desire you could save the complete recording as a single continuous audio file by right clicking then "save target as" either the wma or mp3 links the reulting wma file will be 68.3MB the mp3 186MB but to burn to a CD ideally the tracks have to be split (Try the free Audacity audio editor or contact Peterbro for advice!!) As a check I have just downloaded the mp3 and an anaysis by the freeware mediainfo http://www.johnfowles.org.uk//LIGHTF..._mediainfo.jpg shows that it totals almost 4 hours so it should if split correspondingly JUST!! fit on 3 80 minute blank CDs the mp3 sampling was "variable" averaging 111 Kilobits per second which should produce pretty decent sounding CDs I displayed possible jewel case artwork above |
