'Salute'
Sorting out my CDs, I came across Salute. It had been slotted in at the bottom
of the rack. Slotting it in my Tascam CD player, I am surprised I stopped playing it. 'Whispers of the North' pulled me in immediately. Lesson to be learnt here. Give ALL GL's CDs a chance ! Martyn Miles Oxford England. |

Re: 'Salute'
I like the "Salute" album. The title track is phenomenal. Other faves are "Biscuit City", "Without You", "Whispers Of The North", "Knotty Pine" and "Broken Dreams".

Re: 'Salute'
'Salute' is still probably my favorite album of Gord's. He had given up the alcohol that was killing him in '82, so this album presents a 'fresh start' for him!! If you look at his face on the cover, you can see the ravages of alcohol on him.
It's the first one I had him autograph back in 1999. Obviously no hit songs from it, but I just love the song set as a whole. 'Tatoo' may possibly be my favorite GL song!! |
