Gordon/John Sebastian
 

Whilst trawling through some photos on another thread I came across a picture of Jackie Burroughs, I googled her to see that she was married to Zal Yanovsky. I googled him to see that he was a founder member of The Loving Spoonful. This lead me to John Sebastian. Reading the entry on him on Wikipedia (I know I know) it mentions the other artists he has appeared with as a guest on their albums. Gordon Lightfoot is not mentioned. I decided to try and rectify this by editing that part of the entry to set the record straight. I tried to create an account, but no matter what user name I tried to generate including Bovine Faeces. It was already in use. I gave up. Can anybody (John Fowles) rectify this gross omission on Wikipedia.

OK GYMBO I bit I simply went ahead not bothering to register or anything and I have edited the Wiki at:-

I appended SDYS/IYCRMM to the Session Work section (were you referring to the "Original U.S. albums and selected reissues and compilations" section whose header states quite categorically:-
"Contributions as a guest on albums released under the name of a specific artist or group are not included."?)

My mistake< John, I have just found this section on JS's Wikipedia entry.

Sebastian is credited with playing three instruments on the 1970 Gordon Lightfoot album (Reprise RS 6392) that was originally released as "Sit Down Young Stranger" but retitled "If You Could Read My Mind" when that song became an unexpected major hit record:- "Saturday Clothes" Autoharp; "Baby It's Allright" Electric Guitar; "The Pony Man" Harmonica [56]

I really must learn to read.

I saw a documentary on them and Zal is Canadian.

Amazing Jim the content of that paragraph that you quoted is PRECISELY the same text that I myself composed then inserted yesterday including if you scroll to the bottom my citing of the source of the information as I found it on discogs see number 56!!!!!! So you read it correctly the first time round and are not as old and decrepit as you might be thinking you are!!!
In other words when I said "I simply went ahead not bothering to register or anything and I have edited the Wiki" I meant exactly that but because I did not sign in you were not to know otherwise that it was me inspired by your original bleat!!
