Young people don't like hearing a singer is *gulp* 40!

Makes the singer sound ancient in their eyes.

I wonder if that article was part of the reason his hits stopped after 1978??

Haha! I was 20 in 1979 and I can tell you that his age mattered not a lick to me! Regardless of his age,
I still had a tremendous crush on him and i was pretty sure I would have married him in a heartbeat if he only he had met me and asked me! or maybe if I had met him I would have asked him......

yep - i was 24...and he was all that and a bag o' chips too..
and at 76 he has a wife who is 20 years younger...
oh yeah... all that and a bag o' chips still!
