Dick Cerri Music Americana Radio Show
https://archive.org/details/DickCerr...ust211988Tape1
Hi, the above link is a radio show recording, I posted to www.archive.org, as this is the Dick Cerri Music Americana Radio show, that was on Washington DC radio from about 1960 to 1993 when the radio station it was a time for a change in format. This was not Dick's first radio station to broadcast on. Anyway Dick would do theme type shows, as this show, as the link will take you to the four cassette tapes for the show, as the feature artist was Gordon Lightfoot. The show starts with Pony Man, as Dick tells how John Sebastian on mouth harp. I am not sure he is credited on the LP or CD with that. But Dick's knowledge about the music was amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYUPRxGaP9A here is a link that I posted to Youtube as Dick had John Denver in 1966 on local radio doing Babe I hate to go (Jet Plane) for the first time on radio. Dick has died, as his tapes are in a foot locker. But I had this recording of that event, due to Dick replaying it. It got passed along from me to Noel Stookey, at WERU radio that he started. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnZRhfNG6kE Here is Shawn Colvin, in 1987 before she was know live, and interviewed by Dick. She only had cassettes for sale, as Dick talks about that. Hear her sing her New Freedom jingle that did not make for a ad. New Freedom is a woman's product by the way. Anyway, I got 80 hours of the Dick Cerri Show on www.archive.org, search Dick Cerri for his top 40 shows and other theme shows, like Stan Rogers, Songs of the Sea, etc. Mike |
Re: Dick Cerri Music Americana Radio Show
Just listened to Tape 1, pretty good, 3 songs from the man, Pony Man, Approaching Lavender and Protocol. John Sebastian is featured on 3 songs on IYCRMM, on 3 different instruments, far too clever.
