That Same Old Obession

Re: That Same Old Obession
This is one spectacular piece of work guys. Very artistic and professional. Your garden is in full bloom here.
I've gone back many times and played this and each time it seems to sound better, or maybe I'm doing better, not quite sure. There's just something about the mesmerizing jolt I'm getting from all those notes as they penetrate my slow and methodically processing brain. No complaints though. This has sent back into the world of nostalgia I love to visit when the opportunities arise. "That Same Old Obsession" came out on the "Old Dan's Records" album, one of ten really great songs. Think it was around 69, maybe 70. When I recently took the old vinyl album out of it's jacket for a nostalgic peek it was clear to see that "TSOO" has by far the most wear and tear in the grooves. Sometimes I wonder if it's "the wear" that sometimes brings "the tear." See, getting old isn't so bad when we have these wonderful nostalgic obsessions. The corresponding songbook to this album contains all the original lead sheets and notes hand written by Gord. A real prize to have in the "Gord Room." A "lazy mornin' it is and a good time for me to strap on the ol' D18 and try and come in on a harmony there with Brian. Just like singing along with Gord, eh? |
