HELP? an anyone help me post a youtube video where the actual video shows up and not just the orange link?? I used to be able to do it and now I can't...

before I posted this I verified that both the "Automatically parse links in text" and the "Automatically embed media (requires automatic parsing of links in text to be on)" check boxen were err umm checked

Next I am going to look at the HTML code that this posting is trying to operate under in this and and an earlier successful posting of yours
and will then compare the code to try to ascertain why the current links are manifestly not working and try also to see why the preview of this one has an orange link whereas my two earlier failures were in an indistinct blue font (on the corfid blue background). Hopefully Florian will in due course try to investigate this most annoying phenomenon
However I have to say that it beats me why you Char started a whole new thread on this subject when I had myself earlier made several postings referencing this very same problem on two forums here as I stated on

plus over two hours ago I had sent a Private Message on this subject to you and Florian (no response yet from either of you) (as it happened this became unaccountably duplicated to boot)

Others have been able to post videos with the video showing up and for some reason I used to but now can't.
If anyone has some advice please let us know.

I posted this just to see what would happen.

I normally copy and paste the URL from youtube and that brings the thing up. I'll try.

I'm with Char and to say this is friggin; annoying is a classic understatement let me try pasting in the URL again as Gym suggested. now why didn't I think of that???!

I already tried rechecking the two "parse" options
now I will in desperation try using the ïnsert link" feature

As that failed we will just have to hope that Florian reads either this or my PM and has the time and inclination to investigate
My analysis of the HTML source codes for various successful and failed displays was not helpful

I went to an old posting of mine at

and hit quote then initially I copied all of the posting to my clipboard then hit new reply here and pasted it in from the clipboard. I first had to ignore the insanity of being told that my longish message was too friggin' short so
the stoopid instruction was to "add at least one character I tried that and failed so tried pasting just the opening text then pasted in the YouTube URL.
as you will now have seen
it friggin displayed

Well, go to the foot of my stairs, I just found anything on youtube copied the URL pasted it in the Quick reply box and, hey presto it comes up.

Char, I have just located the Peter Sellers thing that you have posted above. I copied the URL pasted it in and it came up. I have just deleted it. However there is a slight difference in the URLs. Try putting v=zLEMncv140s after the /watch? and see if that works.

This is strange, I have called up the Peter Sellers "Hard Days Night" and the URL has changed, when I tap in the one I had yesterday, it tells me "This video is unavailable" It was yesterday. Very odd.
