Try to Count the Tears - demo

I dont know if this track is linked in another thread... i recall recent talk of the series of Warner demos ....lyrics are at Wayne's site ..i like this one a fair bit

i think my fave demo is still Too Much to Lose with original lyrics and in key of Bb (the out take was in A ....or v.v!)

Both songs are pretty good. The 2nd one better.

Do we know exactly when they were recorded?

i dont know if you have Gord's boxed set but he thought enough of the second song to put it on there last decade

but it was the re-recorded version from Summerside of Life outtake, early 1971

the two were part of the Warner demos, recorded November 1964 through April 1966

it all from the Lightfoot website

char, the entire 30 odd song demos appear here now and then in a link to one of those rar files or something... i'm tired of searching...lol...somewhere i have then on cd... i listen to them once with the exception of about 5...we're glad Gord turned a corner :)

As is often the case there is a ready source of this bootleg on guitars101 at

in that thread on that forum which uses the same program (vbulletin) as the one used by Florian here there is a working link to the filefactory storage website from where you could download the 179MB rar archive file (glwbd.rar), which you could then "unrar" using the great free program jzip to get the full set of 32 mp3s sampled at the top (high quality) rate of 320KBPS which will produce a fine sounding audio cd that is close to the 80 minute nominal capacity of a blank CD-R disc
