The 2013 Tour- Concerts #5 and #6 (Aug 2-3)

My wife liked the Wisconsin Dells so much we decided to add August 3 to the "50 Years on the Carefree Highway" tour.

We already had tickets to Aug 2 (Washburn, WI) and I just bought tickets for August 3 (Lac Du Flambeau). So these venues will be added to Minneapolis, Des Moines, Lake Delton, and Appleton, WI on the list seen this year.

The Washburn concert in the Big Top tent is already sold out. Lac Du Flambeau had only about 30 tickets left. We had to settle for Row T, five rows from the back. Oh well, looks like the place only seat about 750, so we'll still be reasonably close.

Claudia and RJ- see you up in Washburn!

Upon our return, we'll give the newsgroup a set list and review for both concerts.

Yep, see you at the Big Top - looking forward! We might add Fargo but why the heck are they playing this huge (and ugly) Civic Center, instead of the historic Fargo Theatre?? I don't get it.

The 2013 Tour- Concerts #5 and #6 (Aug 2-3)

Hi Claudia and everyone:

I went to Gord's concert in Fargo in September 2009 - it was at the Civic Center, right on the Red River shores. No charm, but really the sound was not too bad.

Glad I bought tickets for Lac Du Flambeau on Aug. 3. There less than 10 seats left when I last looked.

At this point, I think I will go to the Fargo and Bemidji concerts. Hope Dakota Rose or someone can cover the South Dakota concerts.

See you up in Washburn in four weeks!

John- Minnesota

Looks like Aug 2 (Washburn, WI) and Aug 3 (Lac Du Flambeau) are complete sell-outs. We look forward to the beautiful drive in northern Wisconsin and giving the newsgroup a report and set list for each concert.

I had not expected Gord to be back in the area, but now planning to go to Fargo (Sept. 14) and Bemidji (Sept. 15). I grew up in northern Minnesota, right on the Canadian border, and never dreamed Gordon would ever play anywhere close as Bemidji. That would make 8 concerts for me in 2013. I didn't get to see any concerts in 2012, so I am sure making up for it.

Was just letting you know that he is playing in Bayfield, not Washburn. I know the schedule says Washburn, but that's just the box office address.
He did two shows there one day according to his 1999 schedule.

Hi Patti: Yeah, south of Bayfield, north of Washburn. Ski place in the winter. Big Top Tent in the summer.

We were there in 1999 for both shows and gave Wayne Francis the set lists.

It was stinking hot that day - I never knew it could be so hot and humid near the lake. Gord did two shows that day. What a trooper!

Hi John, The weather forecast is looking good for this weekend. High of 72 for both the Big Top Chautauqua and Lac du Flambeau Friday and Saturday.

I'm planning to go to the bigtop. I was there twice before. Once to see The Marshall Tucker Band, and once to see Fido & the Love Dogs.

They usually go where they are requested, unless they decide not to do the concert when asked. Gordon doesn't make the request to do a concert somewhere, the venues have to ask his management if he will do a concert. So simply, the Civic center asked for him, not the Fargo theater.
