I mentioned in my submission that it should say "BIRTHplace"..

he hasn't lived there for 56 years...and there's no family there any more either..
HOME OF is misleading..and HOMETOWN is too in a way..

If u have GL back up then better have Leacock too

Nowhere to go to commemorate/pay homage to Gord except trail or aud

Atleast Leacock has national museum, Mariposa etc

Then again, it's uplifting stealthly going by the GL homestead:)

OK Char you are on the right track because much hilarity has been caused over the years by persistant allegations that the wonderful sign that once graced a street in Orillia was now gracing the wall of an avid fan's residence in Oklahoma City but Shirley has always denied it

After I had posted that message I had a deja vue and was sure that I had displayed that picture before
I have just used the wonderful (as in I wonder how it works!!) Google image search system
and although it completely failed to find this thread it did find the image on my own website plus the old thread that I remembered:-

it seems that every town that has a similar sign, actually has a home that tourists can go visit…. not the case here… the new signs have the events listed, which is useful …i'm surprised there's no mention of Leacock on the signs though because you can actually visit the homestead or museum

i don't know if Parry Sound still have the Bobby Orr sign but is there a museum or childhood homestead to visit? i think American's do this stuff much better

with all that said, tell me where to sign, lol
