(Lay Lady Lay)/ "OLD DAN'S RECORDS" ; by Lake & Rockwell

From the new album by, "Rob A. & Friends: Safe Journey"
A funny little fact; I was reading the songlist Gord lightfoot used on his guitar top and found some interesting things. This list was written around '63, '64... it contained some traditional folk tunes, "Four Strong Winds", by Ian Tyson and a couple of Bob Dylan tunes. There were 40 or so tunes scribbled, some crossed out. One of the keepers was,
"Tom Thumbs' Blues". He was playing the bar curcuit... threw in some unknown and brand spankin' new tunes. I believe "Early Mornin' Rain was one of them.

congrats on the new CD!

just FYI - some democratic decision a while back, endorsed by our moderator:) decided to have a single thread for each artist and then all the tunes done by that artist would be just added to the existing thread

that way there wouldn't be so many new threads and it would be easier to sift back and find each artist's uploads...plus a misc thread for one time up loaders (and freeloaders, lol)

for clarification, and confusion, refer to this governing thread, lol

i might have been joking, i'm not sure....lol....it's become a bit of a mess here:)

Brain follows suit pretty well, Tim also....and Stinson is just typically disobedient:)

here's and example that few have followed (including moi....that's the extent of my bilingualism)

http://www.corfid.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=19132

it's hard to read tone in text...i was joking about Gord's face work of course...it may have been an Anne jab, lol

and i was jesting about the screen capture tutorial...i thought the prompt might have brought sir John out of lurk mode...but i must say, you were concise!

I know it was an Anne jab..lol

Ron was gobsmacked at the screen grabs..lol but never inquired as to how I performed the magic..lol

I'll see about amalgamating all the Robby Lake videos into one thread..
;)

Ron still has the very same face and facial expression of intrigue

i had that haircut cut at my Gr 8 prom, about the very same year

Ron's 70's lapels are totally awesome!!!

i think Alan Thicke is the only Canadian with more 'work'

I loved the Canadian Academy Awards (Screen Awards....one show that takes care of all the film and tv awards...a quick red carpet and all done in 90 mins!)

We were at the airport waiting (and flying) with best actor winner, James Cromwell...a tall man....you know, the farmer in those classic Babe movies...and a million other roles...Don McKellar also there...low key celebs

anyhow, when Alan Thicke comes out on stage he says "I'm the affordable William Shatner"

lol

In Martin Short's monologue, he refers to Air Canada..."or as Ben Affleck would call it, American Airlines" ;)

i did see the end of that film on flight home... a bit drawn out with fanfare etc... i can see why he was passed over for director.... i think the "story" & it's national bonding vibe won the best film Oscar... well, glad it brought about awareness ... it likely wasn't the intent, but from the very start i was thinking, i'm a bit sympathetic to the Iranians... i'd want that former leader back in the country to, ailing or not ...too bad they had to resort to the hostage card

.

Yes, I have A.D.D.
Thanks for making the thread, Charlene. We we're in rough waters for a bit there,
I'll try stickin' to my own personal thread. For moi, right?
