Gawd that was funny! I forgot how good John Lithgow was in that show.....

Re: 3rd Rock From The Sun Lightfoot episode -watch online
I have seen most of the episodes of the show - but not that one. It was a cracker. Highly recommended for those who haven't .

Re: Gordon Lightfoot subject of tonights 3rd Rock
From 10 years and 8 months ago (this week!) the original "Third Rock From The Sun"/Gordon Lightfoot thread! :)
To go with the new one! Yep,still one ofthe funniest episodes. Can't beleive how long it's been since I posted in this one! Whew! |
Re: 3rd Rock From The Sun Lightfoot episode -watch online
That's always been one of my favorites.
Especially talking Mary (Jane Curtain) into sneaking in through the air vents!! LOL!! I also brought up the original GL/3rd rock thread! ;) |
Re: 3rd Rock From The Sun Lightfoot episode -watch online
"Third Rock" used to run on Australian TV, but I never bothered watching it. And having just watched that episode, I know I wasn't missing anything. (It's not in the same universe as "Modern Family", "The Office", "The Simpsons", "MASH", etc.) However, I did find the Lightfoot references interesting. And those Lightfoot t-shirts, which were obviously made just for this episode, as we all know such merchandise is never released.

Re: 3rd Rock from the Sun-Lightfoot episode online!
I tried to merge the old thread and it disappeared! lol
I thought I had posted a transcription at one time too... hmmmm.... |
Re: 3rd Rock from the Sun-Lightfoot episode online!
Talk about overacting and stupid shows, but the GL plot was funny anyway. I was hoping Gordon was on it. I missed nothing not seeing it in the early days. Thanks for putting it on.

Charlene! :)
Here's the link to the archived page & thread at waybackmachine.org : http://web.archive.org/web/200306242...startpoint=900 John....of course it's overacting! :) That's the idea. The whole series is ridculous but hilarious. As someone whose seen "a lot of TV sitcoms",3rd rock is far from the stupidest. |

Yes, I guess I am getting 'too old', as this was just so over acted with the actors pushing way too hard for me to think as hilarious, a bit funny yes, but that is about it for me. Too much of the same ol stuff for me now on most these type shows, so I seldom watch any sitcoms anymore. I watched Chuck last season, I liked it, but I think it is gone now. Glad you liked it anyway, different strokes for different folks is just fine. |
Re: 3rd Rock from the Sun-Lightfoot episode online!
Thanks for posting this Char! I'm a big fan of 3rd Rock, although I came to it late in the game when it was in reruns. I must have missed this episode, but what fun watching it just now. John Lithgow and the cast were hilarious and so many Lightfoot references. Too bad Gord didn't do a cameo, LOL.

Re: 3rd Rock from the Sun-Lightfoot episode online!
Always fun to watch that. LOL!
We had a seperate thread about this sometime ago too. :) I beleive I mentioned that Dick should have met Gordon. I think that I said Dick sings one of his songs. he asks Gord's opinion and I think I had Gordon say to him " If you could read my mind ". Did I have Dick tell him , "Well in fact I can ... and I've never been so insulted!" (??) |
