Live from Raleigh Intermission
Gord as energetic and playful as I've seen since 1982. Rick shared moment with my wife -- as he gained his bearings in hall he stared at her in our box seat, she sang, he laughed. Gord's voice reed thin but better than last few years. Carter verƯ cool. Main sound difference...all fingerpicking so softer, and much more left hand vibrato. At pregnant pause Gord ending Ribbon of Darkness some guy belted out "over me" to end song cracking up band and house.Gord called him a weiner laughingly. Can't do songlist but I know others will. Carter hit 1 iffy ending note and gord and guy all grinned at him while he looked sheepish. Did In My Fashion. No mention of Terry yet. Very upbeat show for Gord.

Re: Live from Raleigh Intermission
2nd half a bit disjointed. Very odd vibe in remarks about Terry's passing...seemed to start upbeat then he sort was overcome with emotion, retold of rehearsing up to 2 days before ICU, then said he was a brave brave man. Other band intros were more pronounced than in past as audience called out affection for Terry, grand support for Carter, love for Rick and Barry and Mike. Gord said some call Rick his gaurdian angel...called him the straw boss. He came back with WofEF, Rick was calling audibles to coach Carter through DQ. Standing O for IYCRMM. Elvis story, Jerry Jeff story. Encore was best vocal: Rainy Day People. Tired now, great show.

Re: Live from Raleigh Intermission
How thoughtful of you, Bill, to think of your fellow Corfidians during the performance itself. Thank you.:)

Re: Live from Raleigh Intermission
Here's a question for you...if you closed your eyes and didn't see the band come out, when you heard the guitar licks, would you know it was someone besides Terry?

Re: Live from Raleigh Intermission
Easily tell the difference. Partly due to fact he held back and didn't play as much, and his playing is much softer with fingerpicking rolls and lots of left hand vibrato as opposed to Terry's firmer picking. Not better or worse, just different. Being a fingerpicker myself, I really warmed to Carter quickly.
