Wilkesboro Setlist

Right on the dot at 8 pm the band bounced out and commenced to making music for a nearly full house. This was a happy, attentive, responsive crowd that offered many heartfelt professions of love throughout the concert.

Did She Mention My Name
Carefree Highway
Sea of Tranquility
14 Kt Gold
Never Too Close
A Painter Passing Through - "Fingertime playing - which finger, this one?"
Let It Ride - a bit of Dueling Banjos/Guitars between Gordon & Carter
Rainy Day People
Shadows
Beautiful
Watchman - "Going to bring up the volume within ourselves"
Ribbon of Darkness
Sundown - this was AWESOME - they were super-tight & the solo fantastic - the audience gave a standing ovation on this one
At this point, Gordon said "We are an orchestra." He then commented on the difficulty of the music & the weirdness of the arrangements. He introduced Mike, then Rick the straw boss, Barry, and Carter the new guy. "Terry's been gone about 5 weeks now."
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Intermission at 8:53 & resumed at 9:14

Triangle
Cotton Jenney
Restless - the song that was reviewed in Field & Stream
Home From the Forest - commented on family that served in WWI&II and soldiers who come home & are not the same
Waiting For You - written for second ex-old-lady
Make Way for the Lady
Fine as Fine Can Be - written for eldest daughter Ingrid when she was 10
If You Could Read My Mind
Don Quixote - reference to Hail Hero - lovely solos by Carter
Gordon then took a moment to comment that "We miss Terry, but we love having Carter on board. He is a skilled, skilled guitarist."
Baby Step Back
Canadian Railroad Trilogy

In My Fashion - encore "We were coming back anyway :)"

And it was all over at 10:06. I thought they seemed much more relaxed overall compared to Tuesday, and there was not as much overt communication between Rick & Carter. Carter appears to be the happiest person ever to be playing and he laughs out loud at all the corny jokes. Gordon has picked up a bit of a cold it seems, so I was surprised when he did both Wreck & CRT - I've never heard both in a concert - what a treat. The music was crisper last night & I saw more smiles. Looking forward to tonight in Raleigh!

Carter...laughs out loud at all the corny jokes!
This must be the primary reason Gord hired him;)

Another outstanding review, Ellen, enjoy!

Thanks for the review. That sounds like it was a great show. Glad there are some smiles up onstage.
